Engraving Technologies

CO2 Laser Engraving (Wood & Acrylic)
CO2 laser engraving on wood creates a permanently charred channel that darkens naturally against light-coloured timber species. Our CO2 systems engrave at speeds up to 1,500mm/s with DPI resolutions of 1,000+ for photographic-quality artwork reproduction. All fume extraction systems comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1000 PEL limits for wood dust and acrylic pyrolysis by-products.

Fibre Laser Engraving (Metals)
Fibre laser engraving on stainless steel, brass, and aluminium produces a surface-oxide colour change (laser marking) without material removal — creating permanent, depth-free lettering that cannot be felt by touch but is visually crisp and corrosion-resistant. This process meets ISO 9919 standard marking requirements for durable product identification. Marking contrast is measured using a Konica Minolta CR-10 colorimeter (Lab* colour space) per ISO 11664-4 colorimetry specification, confirming a minimum ΔL* of 20 between the marked and unmarked metal surface for adequate contrast in direct sunlight reading conditions.

Rotary (Diamond-Drag) Engraving
For traditional deep-cut engraving on brass plaques, our diamond-drag spindle engravers use a conical diamond stylus with a 90° included angle and 0.1mm tip radius to produce V-groove channels traditionally used in architectural signage. Letter depth and serif detail comply with BS 559 specification for lettered and figured signs used in the building industry. Groove depth consistency is verified using a surface profilometer with a 2-micron stylus radius per ISO 4287 geometrical product specifications for surface texture, confirming a channel depth of 0.3–0.5mm throughout all letterforms at the completion of each plate.

Sandblast Etching (Stone & Glass)
Deep sandblast etching on stone and glass creates tactile, high-contrast lettering. We use a pressure-fed sandblast system at 80–100 PSI with silicon carbide grit for maximum cut depth in stone, with photoresist stencils produced via UV lithography compliant with ASTM D4587 UV-condensation weathering test standards for stencil film durability. Etch depth is measured post-blast using a digital depth gauge with a 0.01mm resolution (ISO 3274 contact profilometry standard), confirming a minimum 1.5mm etch depth in natural stone to ensure tactile legibility compliant with ADA Section 703.4 raised characters and Braille depth specifications for signage.

How It Works
Our 3-Step Process

Choose Your Design
Browse our design gallery or start from scratch. Select your preferred material, font, size, and finish. Upload your house name or number text and preview your plate in our interactive configurator. Need help? Our design team will create a free digital proof within 24 hours of your enquiry.

We Craft Your Plate
Once you approve your proof, our workshop begins fabrication. Each plate is individually cut, engraved, and finished by hand. We use a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) calibrated to ISO 10360-2 verification standards to confirm dimensional accuracy on every piece before it leaves the bench. Production takes 7–10 working days for standard orders, or 3–4 weeks for specialist finishes including gold leaf gilding and multi-layer LED assemblies.

Delivery & Installation
Your finished plate is packaged in a rigid, foam-lined shipping crate designed to prevent surface damage in transit. We ship via tracked courier to all USA mainland addresses, with next-day and international options available. Every order includes a precision-drilled mounting template, stainless steel fixings, and a printed installation guide or you can book our professional fitting service.

Why Choose Get Your Name Plate
Precision-Crafted Quality
Every plate is individually fabricated in our Sacramento workshop using industrial-grade CNC routing, laser engraving, and waterjet cutting equipment. We do not resell mass-produced imports. Each piece passes through a multi-stage quality verification process using a digital coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and surface profilometer, ensuring dimensional accuracy and finish consistency that meets the tolerances specified in ISO 2768-1 general purpose linear dimension standards.
Weather-Tested & Built to Last
All exterior plates are tested and rated for long-term outdoor exposure. Our wood panels are sealed to ASTM B117 salt-spray resistance standards. Our stainless steel is passivated to ASTM A967. Our acrylic is UV-stabilised to ISO 7823-1. We stand behind every plate with a 10-year weather resistance guarantee if your plate fades, cracks, or corrodes within a decade of installation, we will replace it free of charge.
